      Kenai Peninsula College (KPC) is a campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage. The college has three locations and is comprised of:
      -Kenai River Campus, Soldotna
      -Kachemak Bay Campus, Homer
      -Resurrection Bay Extension Site, Seward

      This position will be located at KPC's Kachemak Bay Campus in Homer, situated near the shores of magnificent Kachemak Bay. The campus offers courses leading to 4‐year degree programs, associate degrees, and certificates. This campus has 5 full‐time faculty, 15 staff, and 25-30+ part‐time faculty each semester. KBC averages 700-800 students/semester.

      Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

      *Excellent oral and written communication skills to work with students, staff, faculty, and public, who encompass diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
      *Extensive online research skills
      *Excellent interpersonal skills demonstrating teamwork and the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships
      *Ability to research, analyze, and apply federal, state, and institutional laws, rules and regulations at the KPC/UAA/UA levels
      *Ability to manage stressful situations with tact and diplomacy, and to use sound judgment and initiative to make responsible decisions
      *Proven organizational, problem-solving and technology skills
      *Ability to identify revisions on academic papers and assignments, and ability to communicate such revisions in a compassionate and empowering way.
      *Knowledge of post-secondary developmental education, educational program development, supervision

      *Budget experience
      *Knowledge of UA academic programs preferred

      Preferred Experience & Education:
      Preferred:
      Master’s degree in English, Composition and Rhetoric, Writing, Education, or related field preferred.

      Preferred:
      *Five years working for an educational institution, preferably post-secondary.
      *Supervisory experience
      *Budget experience
      *Experience with paper editing and formatting
      *Library/circulation experience
      *Assessment experience

      Required Experience & Education:

      * Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

      *Three years progressively responsible experience related to the position or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
      *Experience with program coordination, management, and organization.
      *Experience engaging with students
      *Experience with online academic research
      *Experience teaching/tutoring developmental subjects to students

      Note: Occassional travel to Homer, Soldotna and Anchorage may be required for meetings and trainings.

      Salary Information:

      This is a full-time, 9-month, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package. New hires will be placed on the UA staff salary schedule, Grade 79, based on education and experience.
